The One & Nines is the worst kept secret in Poulton

It is a film club (but shhh, we’re not meant to call it that!) where we show films in the village hall on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. We try to show a wide range of films from mainstream, to independent, to subtitled and even documentaries. Members, of course, have a say in the films we show so join up and watch a film in your own village rather than having to venture all the way to Swindon or Cheltenham.

Now we don’t want people to just turn up, watch a film and leave. You can go to your nearest multiplex for that. We want it to be a place that people can meet up in the village and have a chance to socialise and chat about anything and everything.

We serve wine and homemade cake before the main event so it is all very civilised. All proceeds go to covering the cost of showing the film and any profits from selling food and drink go to the upkeep of Poulton Village Hall.

Membership has its privileges, so if you’d like to join please get in touch. The cost is £14 annual subscription and then £1 per film (guests are charged £3 per film).

Visit the Poulton Village facebook page to see what films will be coming up next.
